Microneedling

Microneedling, most known as collagen induction therapy, is a procedure where fine needles are used to make controlled micro-tears in the skin. At our clinic, we use the Procell system, which includes a microneedle stamper to perforate the skin. These micro-injuries trigger the skin’s healing process, resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin. During the procedure, we apply the Procell MD formulation of skin stimulants repeatedly to the open wounds, enhancing the treatment’s effectiveness without the need for blood draws or injections. This treatment can address various areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, and it is effective in rejuvenating skin texture, reducing scars, smoothing out wrinkles, and improving skin tone.
Microneedling is ideal for individuals experiencing early signs of aging, hair thinning, or skin issues such as scars, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. Results can typically be observed after just a few sessions, with optimal outcomes becoming apparent after several months as the skin matures and repairs itself. Depending on the results, maintenance treatments can prolong the effects. If you are considering this treatment, book an appointment to learn more about how Microneedling can benefit you.

Microneedling with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Microneedling with PRP involves combining the traditional microneedling procedure with the application of platelet-rich plasma. The process begins with collecting a small sample of the patient’s blood, then processed in a centrifuge to isolate the plasma rich in platelets. Growth factors in this plasma promote cell repair and healing. After microneedling, the concentrated PRP is applied to the skin, enhancing the natural healing processes and improving the skin’s overall texture, tone, and appearance. This treatment effectively reduces wrinkles and scars and improves skin elasticity.

Microneedling with PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin)

Microneedling with PRF is similar to microneedling with PRP but uses a next-generation blood derivative known as platelet-rich fibrin. PRF is obtained by spinning the patient’s blood at a lower speed, resulting in a fibrin matrix rich in platelets, white blood cells, and stem cells. This matrix has a higher concentration of growth factors compared to PRP. When applied to the skin after microneedling, PRF releases these growth factors over a more extended period, which enhances the skin’s healing and regeneration process. Microneedling with PRF is highly effective in improving skin texture, firmness, hydration, and promoting hair growth when applied to the scalp.

FAQ

Using fine needles, microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy or collagen induction therapy for short. It involves causing micro-injuries in the skin by causing them to become inflamed at the same time. During this process, collagen and elastin are stimulated, improving skin texture and appearance.

Microneedling is generally well-tolerated. Topical anesthetics are used to minimize discomfort prior to the procedure. It is possible for patients to feel a slight sensation of tingling during the procedure.

It takes a few weeks for the skin to produce new collagen after Microneedling. To achieve the best results, it is usually necessary to schedule multiple sessions.

Common side effects of Microneedling include redness, swelling, and mild irritation, which typically subside within a few days. Rarely, patients may experience more significant side effects like infection or prolonged redness.

In addition to Microneedling, chemical peels, and laser therapy can be used together to improve the results. You can ask your skincare professional what combination is best for you based on your skin concerns. Additionally, combining Microneedling with treatments like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or LED light therapy can further boost collagen production and improve skin health.

Almost all types and tones of skin are suitable for microneedling. It is ideal for individuals looking to improve skin texture, reduce scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, and achieve overall skin rejuvenation. However, those with active skin infections need a medical professional’s guidance.
